    1. What does 'All inclusive' mean?
      Our childcare hourly rate includes most of the things your child requires whilst in our care:
      Meals and refreshments - Breakfast, 2 course home-cooked lunch and an afternoon snack,
    2. Nappies and baby wipes,
    3. Sun screen/bloc for when the weather gets hot!!

Please note: If any of our products are not suitable for your child, for example they require a different brand of sunscreen, or nappy cream you may supply an alternative for us to use at your own cost.

  1. How do I apply for a place?
    Please contact us to arrange an appointment to look around our setting/s.  No amount of reading can replace a visit to our settings.  If you like what you see and you would like to book a place,  please complete an application form and return it to the nursery along with £50 (deposit which is deducted from the first invoice). A deposit is not required for those children only accessing their free early years entitlement hours. We will then confirm whether Butterflies can offer childcare for the sessions required. Upon receiving confirmation, settling in sessions will be arranged and registration forms will need to be completed before the child’s official start date at the nursery. If there is no availability for your desired session/s your payment will be returned. You may request to go on our waiting list.
  2. How long is the waiting list?
    It is always a good idea to get your child’s name down as quickly as possible, especially if you have specific sessions in mind.
  3. Do you accept Childcare vouchers as payment?
    Yes we do, we accept all major childcare vouchers.
  4. What are your Ofsted Registration numbers?
    Bower Lane: EY248113, Woodlands: RP521064
  5. When is the nursery open?
    Our opening hours are 8am – 6pm Monday to Friday at our Bower Lane Nursery and 7.30am - 6pm at our Woodlands Nursery. Please note: We are closed for one week at Christmas and one week in the summer.
  6. Are you able to accept 2 year old funded places?
    Yes as long as we have availability, up to 570 hours per year.
  7. Are your staff all qualified?
    The majority of our nursery staff hold a level 3 childcare qualification (or are working towards one), to find out more visit Our Staff page.
  8. What are your adult to children ratios?
    The staff/child ratio depends on the age of the child. The regulations state the following:
    Under 2 years – 1 staff member to every 3 children
    2 to 3 years – 1 staff member to every 4 children
    3 to 5 years – 1 staff member to every 8 children
  9. Do you prepare and cook your own food?
    At Butterflies we believe in the importance of good food and a balanced diet. Therefore all snacks and meals are prepared onsite using a variety of fresh vegetables and fruit. See our Food and Mealtimes page for more information.
  10. How do I know my child will be safe and secure?
    We take children's safety and security very seriously and meet all standards required of us by our regulator, Ofsted.  During your child's induction to the nursery we will spend time to get to know their needs ensuring that our staff are fully prepared to care for them.
